FGT Tip #14: Carrots🥕

For Greener Thumbs, Tip #13: Carrots 🥕, avoid the squished looking ones…

My tip for today is for those out there who want to grow long carrots🥕. To give the best chance for a long, typical shaped carrot is to ensure you properly prepare the ground first. Carrots grow longer in loose, sandy soil. Some say you may even need to ensure the loose soil goes down to 18″ in depth. But, it really depends on the type of carrot your trying to grow.

Whichever length your carrot is supposed to grow to, ensure you grow it in soil that will allow it to root into easily yet is able to keep moist as well.

Keep up the hard work For Greener Thumbs readers!!🥕👍🏼

  1. It is so true to have loose soil in order to grow good carrots. Otherwise you will get short stump, or more like octopus carrots.
Although they are funny looking but are still very tasty when you grow your own and eat them fresh from garden.
